The second edition of the PhD Job Day took place on February 28, 2019 in Mons.
Like the previous edition, this edition also turned out to be a success!
200 PhD students registered for the fair, where they had the opportunity to have their CVs screened by cv-analists of the partner universities.
There were numerous workshops for the doctoral students to participate in. To get the most out of the job fair, the workshop "How to maximize your job fair experience" was organized.
There was also a workshop where the companies were given the opportunity to present their company in a 5 "pitch. This gave the PhDs an idea of the vacancies that were open.
In addition, there were various workshops that could help PhD students find a job in the academic and non-academic world, for example: 'Leaving academia - how to market your PhD in hard sciences' and ' Career in the academia - panel discussion of professors from Wallonia, France and Flanders'
Many visitors have also used the opportunity to have their CV analyzed.
According to the survey that took place after the fair, visitors found the following aspects best about the fair:
• CV sessions
• Confirmation and reassurance that there are companies in the non-academia who are looking for PhDs.
• Pleasant atmosphere
• Network capabilities
• Knowing how to present and valorize yourself in the business world
